I wasn't excited when she got married to Bobby Brown but it was her choice and we have to respect it. And as much as many would like to blame him for her life's downward spiral, at the end of the day, nothing is going to bring her back. We have all made mistakes; some of us get out of it, some don't but we make the choices.
I remember dance clubs in the 80s would always use Whitney's dance numbers to get people on the dance-floor. It was a different experience from now because you could actually sing with her songs. Actual words were used and sang in a way everyone could comprehend. And she definitely had some chops back then. Her slow numbers were always touching and easy for many of us to associate with. God knows how many of us made love to her tunes.
Ironically, I had just taken out her CD to play over the weekend. I heard one of her songs on a cab-ride a few days back and wanted to catch up with her music. And then this happens. I guess she is in a better place now but we were always in a good place when we heard her songs back then. Thanks for the memories and thanks for the music Whitney.
Just wanted to share (below) two of my favourite Whitney songs. Enjoy them.
