TOUCH YOUR TATAS!

I recall covering a breast cancer symposium last year and met up with some really wonderful ladies. While it was really an eye-opener and quite emotional at times, there were lighter moments too when I discovered some interesting revelations.

In total, I spoke with 25 women and posed a simple question – ‘When did you discover something was amiss? Was it during a mammogram, a breast examination or a self examination?

Three found out during a self examination while five had been told by their husbands or partners that there was a suspicious lump in their breast. The rest found of about it during a mammogram and follow-up examination.

Undoubtedly, these are just spontaneous figures and may not be a general trend but it got me thinking and obviously I followed up with a query on how many of them actually feel their breasts. Shockingly, only 14 do it! That is a mere 56%! This won’t do!

I just can believe it! I mean what do the rest do during a shower for instance? Don’t they use body lotion or massage their breasts?

This is serious ladies. Conservatism is no longer a valid answer. I know it may sound crude but hell will you just get over it and touch yourselves. Feel your breast, rub them, squeeze them, just don’t neglect touching and feeling them please.

Another thing, just because you may have small breasts, it doesn’t exclude you from the possibility of having a lump grow within.

So get yourself some creams, lotions or oils to spoil your breasts with. Being aware of your body is the first step to knowing when something is amiss. Whether it is to self examine or a part of your masturbation ritual, it doesn’t really matter. Just Touch Your Tatas!
