TATA SHOW

Flash mobs are hitting the streets of Singapore quite often these days. In fact, a friend of mine was recently involved in one involving breastfeeding.

She has three children and the youngest is 11 months. Since I knew her, she has never been bothered about breastfeeding in public. In fact, whenever she has her youngest in tow on some of our tea meet-ups, she had never squirmed about feeding her daughter wherever we were.

So soon after the flash mob of a score of mums feeding their little ones, she reported that not many people bothered about what they were doing and just went about their business, many oblivious that 'free tatas were on show' (her words).

Years ago when she used to breastfeed her older kids, people would literally stop in their tracks and stare. Apparently, things have changed. Ironically, when the flash mob was aimed at getting people's attention, it was faced with a changed, hopefully more matured society. This was according to her, but I am not too sure.
